Ferengi are a species from StarTrek that was particularly highlighted in Deep Space 9. Their religion is commerce and their society is determined by profit.

The Ferengi believe that the universe is held together by the Great Material Continuum, also known as the Great River. The Ferengi believe that each part of the universe has too much of one thing, but not enough of another, and it is through the continual flow of the Great River that wants and needs can be fulfilled, if one navigates the River with sufficient entrepreneurial skill. Here is an interesting scenario - someone being in a position to do something but they are unable to do so because of past limiting decisions to the contrary.

Now of course, there are many ways to treat this, but this Project Sanctuary occurence which happened spontaneously and in real time with a person tonight was so moving and elegant, it deserves to be retold in case someone else might like to try this or something like it. 

There is also another and rather mysterious aspect to this story, but more of that later. Let's start at the beginning. 

I'm sure you all heard about Mr Tesla and his amazing machines, that he built and ran in his mind in quantum time, then went back to check and measure which parts had worn out and when he came to build them for "real" they functioned beautifully, the problems having long been found and ironed out in the mindspace trial runs.

I've heard it too and just put it aside, as something Mr Tesla could do, being a genius, but not available to me as an ordinary human being. 

But actually that's not so. 

I was standing in the demon bar, when this lapsed catholic came sidling over.

What follows is a conversation between Tom and Bob as I was privileged to hear it.

John S writes: One of the advertised side-effects of Project Sanctuary is increased Psi (also known as psionics, ESP, psychic phenomena, and other terms).

I have noticed an increase in my own since playing PS. I had become aware of some psi ability before PS--mostly in empathy/telepathy/claircognition (knowing). The empathy/telepathy was only manifest with certain close individuals.

Derek was an artist, and he was poverty struck to the degree that he couldn't afford to eat if he wanted to buy new paints or materials.

His Sanctuary was lovely, beautiful and incredibly imaginative all around. His paintings and sculptures in the hard were incredible, too, and he was very pleased with all the new ideas he was having.

I just love Project Sanctuary to bits! Ok, I'll rephrase that - it truly delights me. It really, really, really does. I had the most fantastic, but really fantastic experience yesterday with it. So, I'm just lying in a very hot bath, thinking how totally amazing it feels to be in this hot water and drifting with the wonderful sensations.

These days at the *slightest opportunity* these other thoughts, images and sensations come to me and in an instant, I am transported into the world of "Ice River" beyond the "gate of far perspective".

City in the sky is a classic metasong - a description of a Project Sanctuary habitat in the form of what one might call a metaphor poem.

The original vision/experience also inspired a painting.

This is a beautiful PS story in classic fairy tale format for those who may need a time of healing, a spark of healing creativity and a little magic ...
