You have to fight for your dreams.
People think that dreaming is easy, but it's not. You start to dream, and there will be always someone or something riding in like a horde of Orcs, wielding their swords and lances, ready to destroy them. Sometimes, it's the telephone. Another time, it's the favourite show on the TV about to come on. Then, there's the knock on the door, the tug on the apron strings, the impatient voice that calls you out of your dream. Sometimes, it's evil doers who will do their utmost to stop you from dreaming, and instead would like to see you as a slave, tied to some machine, a wheel, just work, no dreams allowed here ... Sometimes, it's yourself and that's the worst of it all, your doubts and fears and swirling memories from times where dreams were broken, didn't come to pass, time wasted with the dreaming ... work hard, and then your dreams come true ... See what I mean when I say you have to fight for your dreams? You have to fight for the time to have them. You have to fight for the space to have them. You have to fight for the right to have them. It takes courage. It takes perseverance. It takes discipline. It takes strength of will, and having your heart in the right place. It takes the ability to get knocked down and get up again, over and over if necessary. Most of all, it takes pure, steel like determination to fight for your right to dream and to protect your dreams from all comers, all quarters, from yourself, until the bitter end if necessary. The people who do that, those are the real dreamers. Those are the people whose dreams come true. But not, and never yet, without the fight. Take heart. Never give up, never surrender - and you too might one day be proud to call yourself ...
