Thoroughly bored with the recent offerings from Hollywood, and whilst looking around for some stimulating entertainment, I discovered Japanese anime. Absolutely LOVE it. For any artist, there is always something to look at and admire; for Project Sanctuary/SuperMind fans, there's always something unusual to be discovered. Started with Evangelium (not a recommendation, just what happened!), The Vinland Saga, Avatar, Kokkoku, Dororo and others.
- Anime is a fantastic medium for story telling without limits.
For all the CGI in the world, there are just some things that you can't do at all, but you can do it in anime. There are so many more that you could conceivably do with live action, but anime does it so much better. Makes me want to convert the entirety of The Golden Horse into anime shorts, and In Serein can be a full trilogy series.
