PoemsEnergy Poems - MetasongWhen one consciously steps into the Otherworld, and activates all six senses to have a sension, an Otherworld experience, state changes and the way we use language shifts. It becomes naturally poetic, naturally hypnotic. Word choices, rhythm and rhyme, if any, are dictated by the experience itself, rather than some dry old dusty schoolbook with "rules" about "how to write poetry." Energy mind generated "poetry" has a mystical quality. It is often difficult to say if it is indeed, a story, or a poem, or a song - it is simply a transmission of information that happens naturally and it is sometimes also called a "metasong" for that reason. Enjoy the otherworldly examples and by all means, write your own. There's nothing quite like it ... :-)
In 2007, an aspect of mine wrote a special HypnoDreams album - one that was not for other people, or for sale, but only for me. Based on the "voices in the night," it was absolutely designed to be a gift for a future self who might need to hear these words, to calm her and inspire her, help her through the night. And it has, on many, many occasions and remains one of my favourite "poem collections" to date ... Full texts of all the "poems" and the song on this poetry album.
You will never know just what you find when you step outside your mind, for a moment and take flight to the wide and starry night, where some things may be revealed ... A poem about a train wreck.
Way back in the day, 1996, when the Internet was young, I joined a poetry forum. With my welcome message from the moderator, I was directed to a list of words which one must never use in a poem. Oh really ... ;-> Forbidden words in poetry ...?
A metaphor poem - metasong - about The DragonRiders: When we ride the dragons, we are wide and free ...
This collection of poetry contains some of my personal favourite poems of all times - Steel Lord obviously, my ode to Lord Lucian; but there are also some other poems that I've always particularly loved, such as Mission, The Alien Hunter, and Unicorn Union which gives the collection its title. One day I'll find an open mike poetry night somewhere and read Unicorn Union out aloud ...
Whilst transferring an old static website, this collection of poetry exercises called Sanctuary Poems dated March 2000 was found in a sub folder. These poetry exercises use imagery of environments (Project Sanctuary habitats) to create a metasong flow. But apart from that, they're cool and even the html is a poetic blast from the past. Enjoy The Sanctuary Poems.
I was just uploading a piece of art called Angel City when this poem came to me. And in the middle of writing it, the postman knocked on the door and delivered a parcel with opalite angelsย - wonderful timing :-)
The other day, this poem, The Oldest Castle, sprang to mind when I was trying to explain to someone why you mustn't give up too soon when you are dealing with memories and trying to remember a genesis event. After much searching, today I finally found it - dated 5.6.1994. Here's The Oldest Castle ... a story poem, and a metaphor poem for so many things ...
A visitor asked if I had any poems suitable for a funeral for a friend. I have three funeral poems here; God's Speed is a funeral poem for a friend; Pyramid for a lover, and Upward for the funeral of a person who had no friends and may not have been a good person in this life. Hope it helps some.
This is a very rare little book of poetry - Fairy Tales by Silvia Hartmann, May 1994. Only 24 copies were printed in the first place, and this is the last known battered survivor. Fairy Tales contains 23 poems: Tarot - Spell - Silent Mirror - Pyramid - Ghost - Soul Hunter - Scylla & Charybdis - Bride of Christ - Message - Sleeping Beauty - Seagulls - Peter Pan - 100 - Wild Apprentices - Agenda - Sword - Castle - Candle - The Book - To Find The Child - Magic Carpet - Waterway - Bedtime. Enjoy.
To me, poems are a way to express oneself without having to look over the shoulder at ol' Granma grammar, without some teacher standing by with a rod to hit your knuckles if you says somming what they dunnot likes. Freedom with words. Do as you please, what you will; I sometimes do. Here's why I love Misty Mornings ...
A gentleman wrote: "I would love to write a love poem for my wife - it is our anniversary - but I'm no good with words ... Can you recommend a poem for a husband who can't write a love poem?" So I wrote one specially for all those gentlemen out there who don't have the words, with material assistance from Lord Lucian, and on their behalf. Enjoy!
I asked for a metasong to start off the new decade on the 1st of the 1st, 2011, and duely, The Time Chamaeleon was delivered to me. As is the case with classic metasong, it wants to be spoken and heard rather than just read; so if you read the Time Chamaeleon out aloud, you will get more of a sense what it is about and why it is here ...
A visitor asked, "How do I write a riddle poem?" Great question! Great inspiration - a riddle poem is a brilliant poetry exercise, and it produces quite amazing poems. Riddle poems are also especially easy to do, and the process how you come up with a deep and meaningful riddle poem is straightforward. Here is how to write a riddle poem, step by step - plus three riddle poems for examples as well. Enjoy!
A magic wedding poem, that doubles as a magic love spell. Two Dragons is the perfect poem for a pagan wedding ceremony such as handfasting.
An inspirational poem and a childhood memory, a lesson in life, a truth about life - we are not as helpless as we think ... sometimes ...
Whilst working on a catalogue of paintings, in which I have added as a detail if there is a poem or a story to go with the painting, I came across the German poem Zaubervogel. I was going to add it to the catalogue as was, but then decided to translate the German poem into English. As I'm the author, and therefore know "what I was trying to say" (!) this was easy and interesting too. Here is the original German poem Der Zaubervogel and my translation, the Magic Bird. Oh, and the painting. Of course ... :-)
Inspirational poem, rhyming poem - it came about quite spontaneously whilst writing the 1,000th post to the VIP forum today, April 15th, 2010. Hence ... A thousand roads I've travelled ...
