I had the "First Sanctuary" induction on my playlist by accident and when it started up, it occurred to me that by instead of taking what is presented automatically, we can CHOOSE where we want to go.

And we can play the Classic Game in a different way ...

The immensely basic instructions (or time/space coordinates!) of:

Time of year?

Time of day?

Weather?

Landscape?



... allow for a VAST variation on possible habitats or even loci.

For example, my least favourite time of year is summer, and my least favourite time of day is afternoon.

I would NEVER choose that as the starting co-ordinates to go with.

That must surely make it so that I will mostly go to the SAME places, rather than investigating everything or finding something NEW to learn from.

It's classic of people to want to do that, to stay with what is safe, and comfortable.

But travel broadens the mind, as they say.

So to DIRECT "first Sanctuary" to somewhere deliberately for a change is certainly an opportunity to expand the network of existing habitas/loci and to find some interesting things, meet new creatures and beings, and generally learn something new.
